Riverside Research Interview Questions
& Process

Got an email from a recruiter and set up a 45-minute call. The interviewer was okay, maybe a little condescending when asking about my research. I have a master's degree and several years of experience, but the recruiter mentioned they usually prefer PhDs. It seems the recruiter who emailed wasn't the one I spoke with, as Riverside reached out, and my resume is accurate about my education. I didn't plan to review this, but Riverside sent a rejection letter over a year later. It's wild how long this took; maybe the recruiter was cleaning house before leaving the company, but it's a bad look and leaves a poor impression, both personally and now publicly.

I interviewed for two jobs, but they were super flaky. The hiring manager interview was good, they seemed knowledgeable but missed a couple of topics I brought up. They didn't have funds for the project even though it was approved. The worst part was the HR person who scheduled everything; there was a month gap between interviews because she took a break. They still haven't given me any answers after three rounds for two positions, even though they recommended one of them.

The interview was conducted via Webex, and the conversation was pleasant. The interviewers were friendly, and the role sounds interesting. It appears they are involved in some fascinating research, and I'm eager to learn more. I'm uncertain if I would be interested in working at Wright-Patterson AFB as a contract scientist, but it could potentially be an engaging opportunity.

It was a two-stage interview process. First, a group/panel interview. Second, I met with a senior executive. After that, the contract customer will review my resume and has the chance to veto. I'm expecting a job offer soon after they look at my resume.
