First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Riverside Community Care.
Intern
The interview process was very simple and the interviewer was nice. They explained the job duties well, let me ask questions, and it was a good experience overall.
- How do you manage conflicts when dealing with more than one client?
Mental Health Counselor
After submitting my application and resume, I was contacted a week later to schedule my first interview. For this first interview, I had to refill out an application, attach my resume, and add references. I was asked to share why I wanted to work for the company. Then, a different person reached out for my second interview, which had three interviewers. After the interview, I visited three houses that had open positions. The entire process took about 3 hours.
- Can you share an instance where you made an error and describe what you took away from that experience?
Respite Counselor
The main HR department reached out via email, and I called them to set up an interview. I went in about a week later. They asked typical human services questions like, "Why do you want to work in the mental health field?" and "What are obstacles in recovery for those with mental illness?". I didn't hear back for a few weeks, so I called the program directly to check on the status of a second interview. The program manager mentioned she was about to call me and invited me in for another interview later that week. That second interview mainly involved explaining the job duties and assessing my background and experience in mental health.
- Can you share an instance where you faced a work failure or challenge and describe how you managed it?
Mental Health Clinician
I was asked standard and straightforward questions about my practice as a therapist. The vice president of Child & Family Services who interviewed me was very friendly and I felt comfortable during our conversation.
- Can you describe your therapeutic practice?
- How do you approach crisis management and de-escalation?
- Are you interested in working with youth?
