First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at RIVA Solutions.
Growth Manager
The process began with about an hour and a half Teams interview with someone from hiring. They seemed to be really selling the company, which worked until I met the hiring manager. The next person I spoke with had only been there about three months, was just back from PTO, and seemed distracted, trying to catch up. They seemed uninterested in the interview, making me feel like just a number. This part lasted only 20 minutes, and there was no time for questions about the company or role as they seemed eager to end the call. It felt impossible to assess qualifications in such a short call, and I suspect there was a personal dislike unrelated to my qualifications, possibly due to being a man on a 100% female team, black, or middle-aged. I was rejected after a week, and I had to follow up. A note to Talent: hyping the company is useless if the hiring process and how people are treated during it shows the reality.
- Typical questions for a Sales position.
Revenue Operations Administrator
This was the initial HR screening, conducted online via Microsoft Teams and lasting about 30 minutes. The questions covered my background, abilities, and knowledge in the field. I was asked to self-assess my proficiency in specific technical skills.
- Could you provide a rating from 1 to 5 for your HubSpot proficiency?
HR Coordinator
The interview process was very smooth and professional. Everyone was so polite and kind when meeting me. The HR Director handled it very well and followed through as promised. It was not a long interview process at all.
- Can you tell me about your 5-year goals and plans?
Associate
I was contacted via LinkedIn for an interview for a Junior Associate role, and my profile was sent to the legal director. I had several positive phone conversations with her. The HR experience was less ideal. I received an offer before the director even reviewed my profile. A few days later, the director confirmed her interest in hiring me. When I spoke with HR again, I requested two days to consider the offer and mentioned a competing offer with a raise and increased responsibilities at my current job, asking about salary flexibility. The HR director then lectured me for an hour about how 'money will come.' This disagreement led to the offer not working out, though I did receive an apology from the director I interviewed with. I respect RIVA as a company, but caution is advised during salary negotiations with HR.
- Could you share an instance of a workplace conflict you experienced?
