First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ritual.
Operations Manager
I got an email and had to do a long, timed 1-hour test. Then I had a phone call and after that, a meeting with the market manager for over an hour, and also met with someone from Canada for about an hour. I then got another call from a different person in Canada who was pushy and asked questions; this person seemed bipolar compared to the last time we spoke. Even though I could have gone further, I decided to stop because the company was indecisive. I also felt like they were trying to get information to improve their business. The people I spoke with seemed disorganized, and you have to jump through many hoops for this role, which pays below the industry average. The only perk is free credits for coffee or food.
- A timed test in Excel/Google Spreadsheets was required, so knowing Excel well is essential.
City Manager
It was an efficient process. I was found on LinkedIn and went through a series of interviews. First, the HR lead vetted me, explained the role, and asked some basic behavioral questions. Then, I met with the GM for more culturally focused behavioral questions. After that, two interviewers assessed my analytical and data skills, specifically market knowledge and sizing. Next, two interviewers presented a case study. The final meeting was for the offer.
- Could you create your own business, considering different criteria, aspects, and targets?
City Manager
I took an online assessment and then they scheduled a phone call, but they rescheduled it 3 minutes before. They rescheduled the second attempt again. On the same day as the second reschedule, I got an email from someone else saying they already hired someone. I checked their website and the job was gone. It's a bummer that a company with a good rep doesn't have its systems together.
- Apologies for rescheduling, can we talk later today?
