& Process

The onsite interview was a 6-meeting gauntlet. I met with a data scientist, an architect, a PM, an engineering manager, the CTO (who was super cool to talk to), and HR for a heavy cultural interview. Most others were interested in the role and company and what it would involve. We briefly discussed how I would approach a scenario to detect malicious activity with some sort of ML approach. I didn't get much time to ask questions because the questions I was getting asked kept going over time.

Had an initial phone screen and was told to look for an email for the next step. After 24 hours and no word I emailed back and was told again to keep a look out for an email for the next steps. A day later I received an email to select a date and time for a technical interview. A week later had a technical interview that I was asked about my previous experience and how I would handle deadlines and so forth. A couple days later received an email to set up an in person interview and a couple days later was asked to reschedule because some of the people doing the interview had PTO. The interview was set up with a total of 9 people from different departments but only half decided to show. Technical interview with 2 software interviews, an interview with a Lead QA engineer, then video interview with culture while she was in her kitchen and finally with a senior level engineer while he was still in bed at 9 am. No offer but I would have taken the position for the experience

I had a call with a recruiter who asked standard questions. Then I went into the office for a 3-part interview. After that, the recruiter emailed me to say they were preparing an offer, but wanted me to have coffee with the Director of Customer Success as a final step. Nothing happened for three months, despite me contacting them multiple times. After running into one of their people at a local security event, I finally got an email saying they were going in a different direction.

I was contacted by a recruiter to set up a 30-45 minute Technical interview call. After that, they gave me an at-home coding exercise that I had 3 days to finish. The recruiter was really nice and kept in touch. I just got an email saying I didn't get the job and I was a bit bummed I didn't get any specific feedback after the at-home assignment.
