First, I had a quick call with the recruiter. Then, I met with the hiring manager. He asked me a lot of really open-ended questions, kind of like Rorschach tests. I thought I gave pretty good, smart answers in a conversational way. Then he asked if I had any questions. His answers were all super vague, and one was just plain wrong about what a competitor offers. It felt like they expected me to solve all their problems in 30 minutes. Some places really build talent, but this place seemed like they just wanted to hire people they could push around.

I was contacted for an interview and provided my availabilities, but the recruiter said she couldn't make those times. I gave her more options, but then heard nothing back for a week. I followed up twice, but got no response. It felt like ghosting.

Applied online and then emailed and left two voicemails for the hiring manager. The process was pretty quick, with a phone interview within a week. The recruiter was great and professional, and did what she said she would. Unfortunately, they decided to only move forward with candidates based in London, and since I had recently moved back to the US, that meant I wasn't considered. However, I really appreciated that the recruiter got back to me and explained why, which made perfect sense and was quite unique in today's job market.
