My interview with Rincon was pretty chill, mostly just talking about myself and my field biology experiences. They didn't really ask any specific questions, just the usual easy ones like 'tell me about your background'.

I had an interview with 2 Project Managers, it was friendly and kind of informal which was nice. They asked me about what I'm into and my experience. Then I had a one hour exam with some scenarios to answer to check my writing and problem-solving skills. After that, I interviewed with the office Principal. The team was nice and got back to me quickly throughout the hiring process.

I had a lunch meeting in person with a manager, then a phone interview with a group of managers. After both, I felt like they definitely wouldn't hire me. This was because they asked a lot about my past work as an independent contractor and the Rincon managers made it seem like I might be too independent. It was a bit of a letdown because as an independent contractor, you do a lot of teamwork to get contracts and work done with Primes, and I tried to get them to understand that, but I guess I didn't succeed. Ultimately, they emailed saying they didn't hire anyone and were reconsidering what they needed for a Senior Biologist.

First interview went really well! We had a good chat and they seemed impressed with my background, saying I was very qualified. But during the second interview, I got the feeling they were looking for someone with more consulting background and my specific field experience wasn't as important. I didn't hear back after that, not even with a follow-up email. It's frustrating to be left wondering for weeks instead of them just keeping me in the loop.
