Analytics Engineer
I had an interview for an Analytics Engineer role. The interviewer, who was a director, seemed pretty checked out and disinterested from the start, like they were obligated to conduct the interview. Despite their demeanor, the questions and follow-ups were solid. I might have been a bit underprepared since it was my first interview in a while. The recruiter was super responsive and I got rejected within a week. Apparently, the role wasn't a fit because of a specific requirement they had.

Customer Success Manager
The interview started with a phone screen with the hiring manager. Then, I had a video interview with a peer from the CS team. After that, I interviewed with the VP via video. The final step was a signoff from the CEO. There weren't any assessments or presentations. The interviews were mostly behavioral and situational. I made it to the VP round, and then they went silent. I thought the interviews went well, but then communication just stopped. When I contacted the recruiter after two weeks to see about next steps, they said the team was busy with a big project and interviews were paused. They never contacted me again. It was disappointing given the time and effort involved; at the very least, an email saying they were moving forward with someone else, or that the search was on hold, would have been appreciated.
- Describe a situation where you successfully saved a client.
- Can you share an experience where you had to accept a 'no'?
- Tell me about a time you experienced failure.
UI/UX Designer
So, I had a phone screening first. Then, I had a video interview with the hiring manager, followed by another video interview with two junior team members. After that, I interviewed with the Executive Director of Product. The final stage was a panel interview where I had to give a presentation based on a case study. This whole thing took over a month. I was really excited and got good feedback throughout, but then they just went silent. It was frustrating because people were out of office, leading to delays, but then it was just radio silence. They even asked for my presentation slides, which I sent. Honestly, I feel like they might have used my work without intending to hire me.
- Can you tell me about your experience with design systems?
- Given this UI and user needs, how would you enhance the user experience?
- What's your approach to mentoring junior team members?
Director Client Success
I applied online and messaged a talent acquisition manager on LinkedIn. They got back to me, and I had an HR screen within a week. It was pretty standard, and they laid out the process: hiring manager interview, a tunnel run interview with three back-to-back sessions, and a final round with the EVP. I got an email the same day to schedule the hiring manager chat. That Zoom call was also pretty standard, covering team management and day-to-day client success duties like retention and upsells, with some relevant questions. Another same-day email set up the tunnel run for the next week with three people. These were three 30-minute Zoom interviews back-to-back. Everyone was nice, and I heard back from them on LinkedIn and email within a few days. A week after the panel, I followed up with HR since I hadn't heard about the final round. They replied the next day saying they'd be meeting to discuss it soon. I finally got a generic rejection email the week after that. The whole thing took about 5 weeks from when I applied.
- What's your experience managing people?
- Can you detail how implementation and Client Success worked at your prior company?
- Describe a situation where you had to place an employee on a Performance Improvement Plan.
