Technical Behavioral Other

Instead of a phone interview, I had an in-person interview with the head of Customer Service and the Operations Manager. They both asked different questions because one didn't know the job duties and the other was new to the company and position. They didn't seem to have a great grasp of what the role would actually involve. This was a new position for a division that was relocating from the southwest to the northeast. Some technical questions were asked. They mentioned they'd be in touch after making a decision, but I never heard back, not even after I emailed to ask about the status of the position.

Behavioral

I met with 5 people for this role, and they mostly asked about my past experience and how it related to the job. It was all one-on-one with people at my level or who I'd work with a lot. These were long-term employees who seemed to know who they were looking for. Everything seemed like a strong "yes", but after five days of review, they decided not to hire anyone who interviewed. I think they didn't know what they wanted, and mentioned their budget was lower than typical for the role, maybe they didn't know what they should have been paying.

Technical Behavioral

I was first contacted by an IT recruiter and then had my interview about a week later. The interview itself took place in a storage room because there were no conference rooms available, which was a bit unusual but it worked out. The CIO mainly conducted the interview. The DBA didn't ask any questions but instead talked about personal issues, and the CIO seemed to encourage this.

There were two interviews in total. First was a phone interview with two corporate controllers. After everything went well on the phone interview I was called for an in-person interview at their site in Michigan. This interview was with the Site CEO and Director of Operations.
