First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Rick Hendrick Chevrolet.
Service Technician
The process was tough. I got an email saying I was selected. When I called to schedule the interview, nobody answered the phone. It felt like they weren't really interested because they take a long time to get back to you and process things, probably because they're busy. They aren't upfront about things; they'll make it sound great, but then when you start, half the employees tell you something different. I applied for a service technician role, but when I was hired, they switched me to express tech work.
- Are you certified in anything?
- How long do you plan to stay with us?
- What was the reason for leaving your previous job?
Sales Consultant
The interview was pretty easy and straightforward. I met with three managers all on the same day. They were all really nice people, and the company seems great. Expect standard interview questions, nothing too difficult. It's best to research the company beforehand so you can talk about it intelligently and make the conversation flow better. Also, dress sharply (elegant) and be ready to give a great presentation.
- What makes you want to work as a car salesman?
Porter
I had to do a basic ethics check and they looked at my driving record. I had to tell them about any and all tickets and accidents I've ever been in. Then I took a urine drug test and had to show I was a good driver and employee. I'd never driven a stick shift before, but they were happy to teach me when I got there.
- Tell me about your driving history.
Finance Manager
Had a quick chat with the General Manager. It was pretty straightforward, mainly asking about the types of numbers I handled at my previous dealership. Nothing unusual, and no behavioral questions. If you know the business, it's easy.
- What kind of numbers did you work with at your last dealership?
