First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Richmond Area Multi-Services.
Mental Health Therapist
They reached out to set up an in-person interview with some of the teammates I'd be working with, which felt pretty thoughtful for everyone involved. They were super down to earth and took their time getting to know me and honestly telling me about the tough work they do, to help me get a sense of what the job actually looks like.
- Can you describe the clinical presentations of clients you've worked with?
Mental Health Counselor
I talked with the program director and clinical supervisor. It was an hour long, and we went over what the job would be like and why I'd be a good fit for the agency. They also answered my questions about the supervision process and diversity at the organization.
- What does cultural competence mean to you?
Behavioral Health Counselor
I had a first virtual interview with the program director. After that, there was a second virtual interview with a clinical supervisor. It took a few weeks to hear back but I did get offered the role.
- What draws you to a school-based environment?
- Can you describe your experience collaborating within a team?
Mental Health Clinician
The in-person interview was awful, like a bad therapy session. The interviewer's questions were too personal and made me really uncomfortable. They kept asking the same thing and wanting more details even after I answered honestly. When I asked questions, the interviewer would just ask me a question back instead of answering. When I said I needed more info, they got all philosophical.
- What made you decide to apply for this position?
