First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Rhombus Systems.
Software Engineer Intern
Started with an online assessment, then got invited for an on-site interview. The on-site involved both behavioural and technical discussions. They were really keen on hearing about undergrad projects and the technologies used, and honestly, the questions weren't super tough.
- Can you tell me about any technical projects you did during your undergraduate studies?
Product Manager
Had a 15 min call with the hiring manager, then a 45 min call with the director of product. After that, it was a 3 hour on-site with 4 interviews back-to-back: one with the director of product, another PM, strategic director of engineering, and the CTO. I was told I might have a 15 min call with the CEO, but it didn't happen.
- Can you elaborate on your past work experiences?
- Describe your general approach to product management.
Marketing
We'll start with a quick chat with the recruiter. After that, you'll meet with the hiring manager. Then, it's back-to-back team interviews. Depending on the role, we might ask for a technical interview or a homework assignment. If it's a sales role, you'll do some role-playing.
- What tech stacks have you utilized in your marketing experience?
Sales
So this was the most unprofessional interview process ever. It was 4 rounds. First, two recruiter calls, then 3 manager meetings, and a VP meeting. The process was okay until after the last meeting. They didn't give me any updates for 5 weeks. I asked every week and got every excuse possible: 'people out on holiday', 'we're a startup so things are slow', 'haven't carved out territories', 'fiscal year ending so start date might move'. Finally, after 5 weeks, they said they changed their hiring plans and couldn't hire for the role. Turns out they hired someone else, which is fine, but taking 5 weeks to decide after the final round and not even telling me other candidates were a better fit shows a lack of transparency from the recruiting team at least. I'd avoid this place and interview elsewhere.
- What makes you interested in a startup?
