Senior Business Relationship Manager
The interview process was great. HR was in regular communication throughout and was proactive in communicating feedback and next steps. I interviewed with several people who I would be working with throughout the organization.
- What specifically about this position attracted you to apply, and can you elaborate on how your past experience matches the requirements outlined in the job description?
- Tell me why you applied for this role and explain how your previous work experience fits the job description.
Process Specialist
It started with a simple HR call. They wanted to get a better sense of my experience and see if I'd be a good fit for the job. We also talked about salary expectations. I haven't done anything else yet and I'm still waiting to hear back about what's next, it's been almost 3 weeks since that first chat.
- Could you describe your experience over the past three positions, including the products you were involved with and how you applied project management skills?
Marketing
The initial interview went great and the HR rep and I got along well. He mentioned moving me to round 2 and asked about my availability for the following week. I let him know the only day and time I was NOT available. That same afternoon, I received a meeting invite for the second interview on the exact day and time I'd stated I was unavailable. I checked in with the HR rep, who explained it was the sole time the hiring manager could make it, so I accepted, even though it meant canceling a doctor's appointment I'd had scheduled for months. Then, on the day of the interview, the hiring manager didn't show up. I reached out to the HR rep again, who said the hiring manager had a family emergency and they would 'try' to reschedule. Later that day, the job was posted again. Weeks later, an interview invite popped up. No prior discussion about timing. It was completely unexpected. I accepted and felt the interview went really well. Almost two weeks passed, and I received a rejection email. On a whim, I looked at Rheem's job postings, and sure enough, the job was listed again. I noticed they had first posted it in early February. It seems like they were searching for their perfect candidate for five months. There's a way to find the right person for a job, but if it takes over five months, the company is looking for someone who probably doesn't exist.
- What are some standard and generic interview questions?
Mechanical Engineer
I was contacted by the internal recruiter via email to schedule a phone interview. He mainly asked about my location and if I was okay with a 45-minute commute a few times a week. He mentioned several times that I seemed like a good fit for the role. When I shared my salary expectations, which are average to above average based on industry standards, he indicated that it wouldn't be a problem. However, three days later, he left a voicemail addressing me by the wrong name and referring to a different position. I let him know he had the wrong number, and he called himself 'dumb'. I haven't heard back since and I'm not sure I want to continue with this process.
