I applied to Restoration Hardware in person. When I handed in my application, I asked to speak with the manager. She wasn't available, so I said I'd call her back later that day. She called me back and invited me for an interview the next day. She asked me about my skills and weaknesses. She had me read the store's core values and then explain what they meant. She asked if I was nervous. I said yes, and she told me not to worry because I already had the job. She also mentioned that what I was wearing was a perfect fit for the company's image.

First, there was a Round 1 with HR, which was a general screening and a long casual chat. They asked if I had any questions for them and got to know me. Round 2 was with the Department head, which went well. It was a sweet lady and a good chat. She explained how things work there and asked in detail about my previous work experience. She said she would move me to the next round with the manager and that it's very important to know about values at RH. But then I was ghosted after that. No response to multiple follow-up emails.

Most bizarre interview I've ever gone on. The manager was very rude and hostile. She tossed aside my resume and began having me read from a "core values" brochure. She demanded that I answer in detail, then stated I'd gone into too much detail. By the way, she also mentioned she'd had a very high turnover due to the fact that decent people hadn't applied. And I spoke to a current employee and they told me that they were overworked. Once I decided to accept the job that was offered to me, I felt like I made a good decision for about a week. Then the hostility was present.
