The interview process felt pretty typical and boring, which was disappointing because I expected a more contemporary and personality-driven company. It was set up in a dim conference room with me on one side and four leaders and managers on the other, which felt like it was for intimidation or just an awkward arrangement. They all asked standard HR questions like 'tell me about a time when...' and 'what are your three weaknesses?'. I got an email for an in-person interview four days after applying online. I put a lot of effort into a sincere cover letter because I was really interested, but meeting the managers made me realize I couldn't work with rude people. I actually saw one of the managers being condescending to a younger associate before I even announced myself. Bad vibes at the Denver location.

  • Tell me about a time you went above and beyond for a customer, the situation, how you handled it, and what you would do differently.
  • Who is someone you admire and why? (Note: If you say family, they will ask you to choose someone else, which is strange).

I applied online and my application was on file. I had a phone call with the recruiter, then an onsite panel interview with the recruiter and HR staff. It was a total of 3 rounds.

I had three interviews before getting the job offer. Each one was with a different manager and the interview style varied a bit depending on the person. The first one, with the Store Manager (or whatever their actual title is, I forget), felt more like a test. The second interview, with my direct manager, was really good; she's the reason I accepted the offer. The final one was with the HR manager (or their actual title, I don't know), and it focused more on the company's philosophy and whether I'd be a good fit. It took about 2 to 3 weeks to receive the job offer.
