It was a pretty easy interview process. Nothing too technical. It was fast, which was good. Talked to about 2 or 3 people total. They offered me way less than the market rate and I was also worried about the culture, so I said no. Plus, I saw what the CEO posts on LinkedIn.

Applied via LinkedIn and got a quick recruiter reach out. She was super helpful and friendly. First up was a chat with the recruiter about the job and my background. They mentioned they have many projects brewing and are looking for proactive folks who like a challenge. Next, I had a 1-hour phone chat with the Software Architect. We discussed my experience and their vision for the role. It was a good talk, got pretty detailed. Then came a technical screen with Triplebyte, covering both backend and frontend stuff for about 1.5 hours. They said it wasn't a major part of their decision-making. I'm not sure how I did; some questions were straightforward, others were unexpected. After that, I had an onsite interview. We went deeper into the specific projects I might work on, discussed the architecture, and some technical points. They made it enjoyable and even invited me to their company social event afterwards with other candidates. They seemed like a collaborative company with good values, focusing on their people. Finally, there was a 1-hour deep dive call with a senior team member. We covered my entire career path and faced some tough questions. We ran over the scheduled time because the conversation got really engaging. Everyone I met seemed smart, driven, and nice. I was keen to accept the offer but ultimately chose another company that offered more flexibility for relocation. This is a collection of startups focused on building products from scratch. I would have accepted if not for a family matter. It requires close collaboration on early-stage products.

I started by talking to HR, then I spoke with the hiring manager, Christian Mcguigan. The HR interview was pretty standard. The hiring manager interview wasn't technical, focusing on questions like "tell me a time when..." and "what was your great achievement." The whole process was quite unprofessional and didn't stick to any schedule. There was about a two-month gap between the HR call and the hiring manager call. I followed up a few times after speaking with the hiring manager but was told I'd be contacted for the next steps, which never happened (they ghosted me). I initially applied for a Managing Director position, but they downgraded it to a Director role with less pay during the hiring process. The company seems to lack culture and organization.

There were four rounds in total, with three technical interviews and one behavioral one. The first round was about FE, focusing on React, React-Native, and AngularJS. The second round was backend-focused, covering NodeJS and Java. The third round dealt with DevOps, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS. It was a nice process overall.
