Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Rewards Network.
Account Executive
I heard back about a week after applying. First, I had a 30-40 min call with a recruiter. Then I took an online math test with 20-25 questions, 3 mins per question. After that, I had a phone interview with the Sales Manager for the region. They told me interviews would be next week and the recruiter would follow up. I waited 10 days and followed up with the recruiter with no response. I followed up again several days later with no response. I ended up emailing the Senior VP of HR. She said the position wasn't filled and they were too busy to update candidates but would send a letter when they chose someone. I knew they hadn't filled it because it was reposted on LinkedIn. This company has been around 30+ years and has excellent benefits. It sounds amazing on paper! It's disappointing and discouraging that their recruitment process was so fractured. It's also disappointing that their Senior VP said they don't update their system until they've chosen a candidate, even if it takes months. This makes me think the company culture might be just as unsatisfying.
- Make sure to review your math triangles, formulas, and fractions, as they will definitely be on the test.
Account Executive
I first applied through their website and then got a call from HR at Rewards Network. The initial phone interview was pretty straightforward given my sales background. Next, I spoke with the Regional Manager for the area I applied to. After that, I had an interview with upper management, which was also very quick. Then, they set up a face-to-face interview with the Regional Manager in Dallas, which took place over dinner. The following day, I shadowed an Account Executive to see the day-to-day operations and ask questions about the job, and she was really helpful.
- Basic questions were asked in the first interview.
- The second interview was more in-depth regarding your experience and situational questions.
- The face-to-face interview was very casual, focused on getting to know each other and assessing chemistry.
Account Executive
This whole thing started with a phone interview with the recruiter. Then, I had a 1 hour and 25 minute face-to-face interview with the Regional Manager. After that, there was a 30 minute phone interview with the Sales Trainer. The last interview was a 30 plus minute phone interview with the VP. This whole process took over six weeks. The VP was the last person I spoke with. The recruiter told me I'd hear back within 24 hours. After three more weeks of me calling and emailing, I got an email saying they weren't hiring in Tampa, FL. The recruiter and company didn't even have the courtesy to call me personally. This whole charade and all their empty promises really slowed down my job search. I can't believe how unprofessional and slow their communication was!
