First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Revel.
Associate
I was first contacted by an internal recruiter through a mutual connection. We met for coffee in October and talked about my experience in the industry, not consulting specifically. I got good feedback and was told I'd hear back in a few days. The follow-up was quick, but they explained that some clients had put a pause on hiring new consultants for the rest of the year and asked me to keep in touch. Then, in March 2013, I got a surprise call asking about my availability for an interview. The interview was from 5 to 8:30 pm at Revel HQ in Kirkland. It included a behavioral interview with a Senior Manager and a case study session with a manager. I received feedback that was polite but didn't give much away. I thought I hadn't gotten the job, but it was a good experience overall. The next day, I got a call offering me the position, and I started a week later.
- Be fully prepared to tackle various case study questions for over two hours. Get some books from Amazon, study them thoroughly, and practice with someone else. Prepare as you would for a McKinsey interview, and you'll be alright.

The hiring process was quite slow, taking 7 weeks from the initial interview to the offer. For a smaller company, this felt lengthy. The first interview was primarily behavioral, with several questions focused on my interest in Revel. The subsequent on-site interviews included case interviews. Ultimately, I declined the offer due to its low value, which was also dependent on a client company 'hiring' me for the project.

Senior Associate
I first had a chat with a Revel recruiter over the phone. Then, I went to their office for interviews with two managers and an executive. This whole thing was about 3 hours long. They asked me standard questions about my experience and skills, and I also had to put together a case study about a business problem they said was for a current client. The interviews themselves were interactive, and each lasted about an hour.
- What's your approach to creating a go-to-market strategy across multiple states for a big retailer when you don't have much access to their subject matter experts?
