First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Revance Therapeutics.
Marketing and Events Coordinator
The interview process was quite straightforward. I had conversations with a few people from the marketing department, and by the end of the day, they extended an offer. The discussions primarily focused on my background and how it matched their needs for the position. Everyone I spoke with was really approachable and created a welcoming atmosphere.
- Can you share your experience with executive support tasks?
- Could you elaborate on your prior marketing experience?
- What relevant experience do you have in event coordination?
Aesthetic Consultant
Over 6 weeks, I went through their interview process, but with very little notice before each interview (only a few hours). I made it to the final round and attended an interview event. There, I had three hour-long interviews. Two were great and exciting, but one was completely out of line. A new manager interviewed me and went through my resume, crossing things out and saying they were unimpressive. He also said I shouldn't be proud of non-performance related accomplishments and called me unqualified. It was wild, especially after weeks of interviews, to be told that. He admitted he was reading my resume for the first time then, which felt like a waste of everyone's time. The whole thing felt incredibly unprofessional and aggressive; I even wondered if it was personal. It was just really bizarre.
- Can you detail your quarterly performance over the last 10 years, including your year-over-year percentage to goal?
- What are your thoughts on business planning?
- In your opinion, what aspects of your profile might be considered disqualifying?
DevOps Engineer
after 7 zoom interviews that took up a lot of my time, HR called to say they wanted to offer me the job and talk about pay. After 2 days, I followed up and they said they hadn't finalized anything and were still interviewing others. I waited a few days and followed up again, and they said they were waiting for approval from upper management. It felt like they were wasting candidates' time. If they didn't have approval, why interview people? They didn't seem to know what they wanted. They ghosted me for about 3 weeks, and still no decision. I interviewed with the CTO and VP, who were nice but didn't seem to understand the ground-level work. I felt it was a waste of time and energy. The HR part was very unprofessional, and the hiring manager seemed to be playing games. I wouldn't recommend this company. Other candidates had similar experiences on Glassdoor.
- Could you walk me through your previous work history?
- Could you tell me more about your experience with Docker?
- Could you tell me more about your experience with AWS?
Quality Engineer - Backend
The interview experience was quite unprofessional and rude. It was supposed to be a managerial round. The first 10 minutes were spent on introductions, discussing my experience and the current framework. However, in the next 10-15 minutes, the interviewer became confrontational when we discussed backend automation and flows. She asked about something I hadn't worked on, and she was aggressive while listening to my explanation. She immediately gave me negative feedback. I felt uncomfortable and just said 'totally fine' and left the meeting. About 5 minutes later, the interviewer emailed me and the recruiter, stating, 'A complete no, she don't even have 5% knowledge and has wrong attitude.' Their behavior was totally unprofessional and aggressive. I'm actually glad I was rejected immediately. If you don't like an answer or a candidate, learn to move on instead of confronting them.
- Can you explain client-server architecture?
- What are your thoughts on microservices?
- What is your experience with backend code coverage?
