IT Manager
The interview process is quite streamlined. Following an initial HR screening, candidates proceed directly to a first interview with a panel. This panel discussion usually covers the functional aspects of the role. A subsequent brief HR round is also typically scheduled, although we've noticed this doesn't always happen. At most, there might be a second quick round with the panel.

I was contacted by a recruitment agency for the position, and then the RSi recruiter reached out a week later to prep me for the interview. The process involved an Excel test, followed by a presentation using my own laptop, and then a final Q&A. I prepped for the presentation and got to the interview at 9 am, but an hour before, the interviewer emailed to reschedule for 9:30 am. Upon arrival, I met the interviewer and was given an Excel test to calculate percentages. As I opened my laptop to start the test, the interviewer noticed a photo of my Chinese fiancé and asked if I was married, expressing a desire to know more about us and how we met. I felt uncomfortable because the interview should have focused on my qualifications, not my personal life. I finished the Excel test in 30 minutes, called the interviewer back, and she pointed out errors in my calculations, then told me to finish the exercise at home. Another person joined for the presentation, and I presented from my laptop in a small office. I mentioned I'd save time for questions, but the main interviewer interrupted me multiple times, preventing me from properly delivering my presentation. At the end, the main interviewer expressed doubts about my math skills and asked about my elementary school math grades. I mentioned having math tutoring when I was younger, as the question was unexpected. Then I was asked about my skills, with the interviewer suggesting I identify what I'm good at because the world is vast. The interview concluded with the main interviewer asking again about my fiancé, where we met, and her job. I found these questions irrelevant to my qualifications and the role, so I stated it was a long story and I preferred not to discuss my personal life. It was clear I wouldn't be invited for a second round.

I applied online. Had an initial phone screen with the Director of Retailer Big Data Analytics, which lasted about 30 minutes. After that, I was invited for an onsite interview. I was asked to prepare a presentation about a recent project. The location was quite remote, with no obvious sign on the office door, just a name-tag-like thing with the company name. During the onsite, I interviewed with the Director and another Director from sales. Following the interviews, I gave my presentation and then completed an Excel quiz focusing on conditional formatting. I was told I'd hear back in a week or two, but I never did. I hope the company is reading this, and I'd appreciate some respect for the effort people put into preparing for and attending these interviews, even major companies do this.
- Can you provide an overview of your resume?
Program Manager
The interview process with RSi was incredibly lengthy, involving at least six phone interviews and two in-person interviews. They finally extended a very low offer and acted unprofessionally throughout. For four weeks, they repeatedly said a final decision was coming 'next week' while expressing strong interest. The initial offer lacked specific details about the position, only suggesting more information would be provided after signing. I had to follow up to get a clearer offer outlining the role. I suspect they intentionally delayed their offer until my other options expired, knowing I was eager but had other opportunities. This private company offers stock options, but approval is needed after signing, and they won't disclose the stock's value, which appears to be very low. I declined their subpar offer and wouldn't have accepted anything from RSi anyway. On a positive note, one person I met was genuinely helpful and honest.
