Property Manager
The interview was pretty thorough and felt really planned out. There were four interviews in total. It kicked off with a recruiter chat to go over my experience, see if I was a good fit, and talk about what we both expected. Then, I chatted with the Regional Manager to dig into things like leading operations, managing teams, and how properties were performing. The next interview was with the Regional Vice President, and we talked more about strategic thinking, taking responsibility, and what the long-term plan looks like. The last interview was with the owner, which was all about company culture, how I think about leadership, and if I generally align with the company’s values. All in all, it was a process with a few layers to make sure it was a good match for everyone, and it showed me they're serious about hiring good leaders.

Director of Marketing
This was a weird interview process. It started with a recruiter call where they said there would be three more interviews: one with the hiring manager, one with the COO, and a panel interview. However, only the hiring manager interview actually happened. During that, I met the hiring manager, a random director from another department, and someone whose title I never got, but I think was HR because they asked the same questions for every single job I've ever had for two hours. This last interview was the absolute strangest I've ever experienced; it felt like they were just checking if I actually worked at those places. After that two-hour marathon, they asked for 4-8 references, called all of them, and then ghosted me. I've never had a company contact references and then not offer anything or at least follow up. I emailed the recruiter, hiring manager, and the reference checker, but heard nothing back. Definitely shady business practices.

Regional Manager
Applied online and got a call the next day for a recruiter interview. She asked standard stuff like why this company, managing experience, and salary. She said I did well and would move on. A few hours later, she scheduled me for 3 interview rounds, but then changed the times and people. The night before my first interview, the schedule changed again. I emailed to confirm and she changed the time a fourth time. The first interview was a 30-minute phone call with 6 behavioral questions, very structured. The next day, my other two interviews were set up by phone. On the day of my first interview, the recruiter called saying the team liked me and wanted an in-person meeting, and she'd confirm details later. I didn't hear back, so I called, no answer. I emailed, and at 9:30 pm got confirmation for the next morning. The day of the in-person interview, I got pulled over for speeding on the way and had to deal with a ticket issue at the police station. I immediately called the recruiter and explained. Given the national protests at the time, I thought they might be understanding about potential policy brutality issues with people of color. But they called back and said they weren't moving forward with me. It was the most disorganized process ever, and I wouldn't recommend applying here. Everything was chaotic, and one minor issue derailed the whole thing.

Leasing Agent
After submitting my resume, I got a call where they asked me a bunch of questions. They weren't too tough, but you should definitely have an answer ready for "What is your biggest weakness?" and be ready to state your current salary and your salary expectations for this role. They'll also ask how your previous managers would rate you if contacted. I'm not sure if they actually called them, but it's best to be honest when you answer.
- Can you tell me about your biggest weakness?
- What is your current salary?
- What salary are you looking for in this new position?
