I had one interview with an economist who would have been my supervisor for the project. The questions were pretty standard. I got to learn about RFF. They communicated well before and after the interview. It was a good experience overall.

I was told initially that three people would be interviewing me, but then an extra person joined the meeting unexpectedly. The interviewer came across as quite arrogant. They probed me on subjects I studied in school, even though it's been a while since I graduated. It was a bit of an unusual situation.

It started with a Skype call with the two managers, which went well and felt like standard questions. The next interview was a video call with an HR rep and two VPs, as I was abroad. One VP seemed disengaged, but the others were fine. They asked the same questions from the first round. I had a bad feeling afterwards, despite thinking I answered well. It took them a long time to decide and I had to follow up twice. The HR rep emailed to say I didn't get the job and an official email would follow. I thanked her and asked for feedback, but never heard back. I later saw they hired someone overqualified with a master's and 2-3 years of experience for this entry-level, low-paying role.
