My previous company transferred our team without consent to RMC, a small business. Despite hearing negative feedback about benefits, PTO, and pay, I liked my job, commute, and customer, so I attended the interview RMC requested for our Cyber team. The interview was at a Panera Bread and RMC didn't pay for lunch. RMC's VP and another person interviewed me. RMC's VP demanded pay stubs, which I was hesitant to provide since RMC was Engility's teaming partner and it wasn't their business what I made. Providing pay stubs eliminated negotiation room. I told them if I had to take a pay cut, I'd find a new job. They lied about pay cuts. After I accepted another offer, they won the contract and a coworker's screenshot showed him taking a 40k pay cut. I had given RMC's VP an ultimatum about salary, and when we didn't agree, I left.
