First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Resource Development Associates.
Consultant
There were three interviews. I had to complete two assignments: one data-focused and one writing-focused. The data activity had a 24-hour deadline, and so did the writing activity. The questions asked were pretty standard, and the people interviewing me were really nice.
- Can you tell me about your relevant past experience?
Program Associate
I went through two interviews and also had to take an exam, which included a written part and an Excel task. The first interview focused on my background with analysis, consulting, how I work, and meeting deadlines. The second interview went deeper into my ideas about consulting and any management experience I had. They ended up offering me a job as a Resource Associate because they felt I didn't have enough experience managing projects or teams.
- Considering your consulting background, what recommendations or practices would you suggest for RDA to implement going forward?
Research Associate
Got contacted pretty fast after applying and had an in-person interview at their office. Then, a follow-up online assessment came pretty quickly. After that multi-hour assessment though, it went quiet for months, which was a bit weird. I thought asking for that much time upfront with timed assessments, only to go silent afterwards, was kind of a turn-off.
- A written assessment was required.
- An assessment using Excel was required.
Consultant
I applied and was contacted for a screening interview about 6 weeks later. It seemed pretty standard, and I was told I'd hear back within a week. But instead, I got an email saying they had already offered the position to someone else who accepted it. I'm wondering why I was even interviewed if they already had a candidate accepting an offer. It felt like a waste of time for everyone.
- Would you be comfortable working with a billable hours pay structure?
