The interview had 3 main steps: first, a phone interview, then an in-person meeting that included a mock facilitation, and finally, a reference and background check. It's important to remember to do things like send thank-you notes/emails and make follow-up calls. Asking open-ended questions is also key, because this field really values helping people become self-sufficient and find jobs. It's pretty straightforward, but HR can sometimes make it take a while.

So I've actually worked for this company before, and my last experience with ResCare wasn't the best. It started with a basic phone interview, then they set me up for an in-person one. I got there early, ready to go, but ended up just sitting in the lobby for about 30 minutes past my scheduled time because they were in a meeting. Someone eventually told me they'd be with me soon, but I waited around 45 minutes before it actually started. I met with two people, but honestly, I have no clue what their positions were, which was kinda weird. They seemed to be reading from a script, taking turns asking questions that were pretty straightforward. The biggest bummer, besides being left waiting forever, was that the job description they posted didn't match the actual day-to-day tasks at all. If I'd known what the job really entailed, I wouldn't have even applied. About a month later, I got a rejection letter in the mail. Seriously, why mail it? An email would have been faster and saved them money.

They tend to convert temp employees to permanent roles, often through referrals from current or past employees. The temp work essentially acts as a 'working interview,' and strong performance can lead to an invitation to apply for permanent positions. The application for permanent roles is done online, and you should approach it as if you're trying to secure the job, even though you don't officially have it yet. The interviews are typically conducted in a panel format, where a set list of mostly behavioral questions is used. All applicants receive the same questions, and the panel makes the decision, with the director having the final say.

I was invited in and interviewed with 2 Workforce Managers. They both were extremely professional but also extremely down to earth. The questions were not structured and it was more as if chatting with friends versus competing for a position within the company. The managers were thorough and explained the details surrounding the different programs that the agency provide services for. I left feeling as if I was in an orientation or having a general conversation over drinks with friends rather than an interview. They went out of their way to ensure my comfort and I truly appreciate them for their relaxed demeanor. I went to the interview not knowing much regarding the programs and was given expert knowledge directly from the Area Manager's mouth. Very pleasant experience. The process was slow moving as I did not hear from anyone until 2 months after the interview.
