First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Republic Services.
Environmental Specialist
The interviewer was super nice, and we talked for about 50 minutes. They asked around 10 questions, but we also chatted about our interests and went over the job and interview expectations.
- Which class this semester did you enjoy the most that is relevant to this job?
Environmental Specialist
The interview process was pretty chill and laid-back. The person interviewing me was really nice and made me feel comfortable. It was supposed to be a one-on-one panel interview over Teams, but another person joined the call unexpectedly. Both of them had a really welcoming vibe.
- Could you start by telling me a bit about yourself?
- Describe a time you had to deal with a tight deadline.
- Can you give an example of how you've worked effectively with others?
Environmental Specialist
The interview process was really disorganized and felt unprofessional. It started with an email calendar invite from HR that had no details in the body, just a subject. I travel a lot for work and told them I'd need at least 7 days' notice for an in-person interview. But then HR called and said they'd scheduled me for an interview in 3 days, that it was the only available time, and couldn't be rescheduled. I managed to get them to agree to a phone interview with the managers instead, since I'd be out of town. After that, I followed up with HR but didn't hear back for a month, only getting an automated email.
- Can you tell me what specifically interested you in Republic Services?
