First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Republic Bank (PA).
Customer Service Associate
It was a drawn-out interview process. It started with a recruiter calling for a phone interview, then the store manager reached out for another interview, and finally, there was an in-person interview. All this for an entry-level teller position that doesn't even require experience. Honestly, only one interview really felt necessary. Despite having 4 years of experience as a personal banker, I wasn't offered the job. I wouldn't recommend wasting your time here. Be prepared for unusual banking hours, working on holidays when other banks are closed, and being required to promote the bank through activities even on your days off.
- Tell me about a situation you encountered with a challenging customer.
- How would you manage a customer who is unhappy with a particular policy?
- What action would you take if a customer requested something that violates the bank's rules?
Customer Service Associate
The hiring process was fast because it was a hiring event with many other candidates. The interviewer was friendly and seemed enthusiastic about the bank, making me feel positive about working there too. She asked questions that felt like a conversation, covering both professional and personal aspects without being too intrusive.
- Describe an instance where you assisted a challenging customer.
HR Coordinator
Got a recruiter call first to chat about my background and skills. Then a phone screen. It took a whole month to get an in-person interview. When I finally had it, she had a lot of questions, like 4 pages front and back, mostly behavioral. The interview went for nearly 2 hours. It was a really long and tiring process, but I didn't get the job in the end.
- What is your definition of work ethic?
- Can you share an instance where you had to manage multiple tasks simultaneously?
- Describe a situation where you were responsible for implementing a new policy.
Financial Analyst
I had an online interview, and then about 10 days later, a phone interview. The phone interview was pretty standard. They asked about my past experience and why I'm looking for a job right now. They were really clear that the job is 100% in-person.
- What technical skills do you possess that would be valuable for this role?
- Could you describe your previous work experience?
- What motivated your current job search?
