Coordinator
It went pretty smoothly and fast. The recruiter asked some easy questions and quickly figured out the best title for me. Then I spoke with the hiring manager, and we had a relaxed conversation about the job duties and what the day-to-day looks like, plus important areas for growth.
- Could you tell me about your experience using Google Ads and Facebook Ads manager?
ECommerce Specialist
A recruiter reached out on LinkedIn, and after sharing my resume and the job description, we scheduled a phone call for the next day. The call didn't happen. I tried calling the office, but the recruiter was working from home and her direct number wasn't available. I messaged her on LinkedIn instead. She apologized a day later, explaining a scheduling mix-up, and asked if I could meet at 4 pm that day. I agreed and prepared to be at my computer. Again, the call never came. Frustrated, I contacted the hiring manager directly on LinkedIn. She mentioned that HR typically handles screening, referring to the same recruiter. I explained my experience, and she promised to follow up. Unexpectedly, another HR person called and conducted the screening right then, without prior notice or apology for the previous issues. This led to an interview with the hiring manager a few days later. During the Zoom call, the manager seemed unprepared, reading my resume as we spoke. She asked general questions like 'So, what do you do?' and presented a hypothetical scenario: 'L'Oreal is our customer, so what would you advise them?' The question was vague, and I wasn't sure how to approach it. I sent a follow-up email offering to do a presentation on a topic of their choice, unaware it was already part of the process. The next day, the HR lady disclosed the salary and asked if I'd accept it before an offer was formally made. This was surprising, as I expected to discuss it with the manager first. I agreed to discuss it further and was given a two-day assignment to prepare a presentation on an e-commerce website for a potential client. I was told the hiring manager, department head, and possibly others would attend. I submitted the assignment and had my second interview with the same hiring manager, but no one else joined. She was impressed with my presentation and probed for details on my analysis, seemingly to leverage it for a client pitch. I later learned this was an actual client they were pitching to. She expressed concern about me being poached due to my skills and potential for a higher salary elsewhere within a year, questioning the company's culture and salary practices. The overall team's attitude seemed arrogant, with a lack of transparency about the interview process, number of rounds, company details, or interviewer backgrounds. It felt less like a two-way conversation and more like I was there solely to answer questions. The interview concluded, and I never heard back from them, which, given their attitude, wasn't entirely surprising. I wouldn't have accepted the job anyway. It was very unprofessional.
- What is your current role and responsibilities?
- Given that L'Oreal is one of our clients, what recommendations would you provide to them?
- Prepare and present on the digital presence of an FMCG company.
Associate
A coordinator reached out to set up a meeting. The interviewers were pleasant but seemed a bit distracted during the interviews. They were dressed casually and had a relaxed demeanor. I was asked to set up another meeting, but I didn't get a reply after suggesting some times.
- Tell me about how you would be a good fit for this position.
- What are your strategies for managing your duties?
Campaign Manager
It was 3 rounds. The first round was with HR, like a normal phone screen. The second was with the team I would be working with, and they asked stuff more related to the actual job. The last round was with higher-ups, more to see if I'd fit in.
- Could you share an instance where you handled conflicting client deadlines?
- Describe your familiarity with the platform relevant to this position.
