Remitly uses a situational interview process to see how your experience matches the role and company culture. You'll talk with people from different teams, even those you might not work with directly. Each talk is about an hour long and very interactive, getting into specific situations. You really need to know your stuff, as surface-level knowledge won't cut it. They do make it a comfortable setting though, giving you plenty of time and help to explain your answers well. It's a good way to check you out from different angles, making it interesting and informative.

Behavioral Other

So first I had a call with the recruiter, who started by asking me some behavioral questions before getting into the salary range or details about the role. Then came an assessment, which they said would take 90 minutes, but it was totally impossible to finish in that timeframe, it actually took me about 5 hours. Honestly, it felt super time-consuming, I figured most people would probably use ChatGPT for it, so I'm not sure about its value. After that, I had an interview with the hiring manager, she was nice and asked typical behavioral questions. Then there was supposed to be a panel interview, but I declined that because I ended up accepting an offer from another company.

Behavioral

The recruiting coordinator set up a call with the internal recruiter. The call was rescheduled last minute, and then there was a mix-up where it didn't show up on her calendar, so I waited for 20 minutes for a call that didn't happen. It was rescheduled a third time. When we finally talked, she asked me one question, 'Tell me about your previous job,' and then asked if I had any questions. She seemed uninterested and unprepared for most of the call, which was only about 15 minutes. It was disappointing because I was really interested in the role and company. I'm thinking about applying for a different role there and hoping for a better experience.
