About 2 weeks after applying, a recruiter from RELEX contacted me to set up the first interview, which was a phone call to go over my resume. That same day, the recruiter told me I was moving on. The second step was a take-home case study, given 3 days to complete (took me about 2 hours) and it tested my basic Supply Chain knowledge, consulting skills, and data analysis abilities. The very next day, I was informed I'd advance to the third round. RELEX had another similar job opening and thought I'd be a good fit, so the third interview was a 1-hour video call with two managers (one for each role), focusing on behavioral questions. Later that day, I learned I was selected for the fourth round. This was a 1-hour video call with another manager and a business consultant, where we did some role-playing of potential scenarios during project implementations. The following day, I got the news about the fifth and final round. The final interview was a 1-hour video call with the hiring manager, and it included more behavioral questions. I was expecting to hear back in 2 days, but on that same day, the recruiter called with a verbal offer. The whole process was super fast, with 5 interviews and an offer in just 18 days, and the recruiter always got back to me within a business day and answered my questions quickly.

So, I ran into RELEX at a career fair and after about two weeks, I got my first interview. The whole process had three main stages: first, a phone chat, then an on-site where I had to do a case study and a behavioral interview, and finally, a concluding interview with two people from the hiring team. The phone interview was pretty standard, just a quick screening. For the on-site, the case was a bit different from typical consulting cases; it was more about supply chain and felt like word problems. Before the case, I spent about an hour doing a behavioral and culture fit interview with two consultants. Then, I had 30 minutes to myself to tackle the case. Afterwards, I presented my solutions and they asked some follow-up questions. The last interview was with the hiring managers, mostly behavioral questions, pretty standard stuff, like a conversation.

So, I had a total of 4 interviews because of some mix-ups internally. A recruiter first reached out, and we had an initial chat, and they were gonna pass my profile to the right team. But then, in the second interview, someone from a different department interviewed me. They eventually set up a 3rd interview with the correct team, and then I had a final one with the director of that area. The director and the team were about 10 minutes late for the final interview, which kind of set a weird tone. Also, during the final interview, it felt like there was a disconnect between what the HQ management wants and what the Germany management wants. One more thing, they were looking for someone who would immediately escalate any issues or conflicts with a customer, which isn't really aligned with my goal of being more independent in decision-making.
