After applying, I was contacted the next day for initial chats with the recruiter and hiring manager. Then, I had a presentation and interview process all on the same day, meeting with many people. There was one extra interview after the main one because the reporting structure for the position changed. Things might be different now since it's been a few years.

Just a heads up to job seekers, if you get an email about a remote job from Relay Therapeutics, it's a scam. Scammers aren't great at English. I knew it was a scam from the start but went along to gather info to report them. It started with an interview form asking about your bank. Then, they sent an offer letter using the real company's logo. They continued with more questions, asking things like if you can follow directions precisely and if things are 'clear' after you get them. They said they'd email you a check for office equipment. Don't do it! They'll ask you to deposit it and then scam you. A real company wouldn't do this. I told them I was suspicious and asked about their official onboarding process, mentioning W-4 and I-9 forms. They said yes and sent a generic I-9 form, but no W-4. I contacted the actual company's HR, who confirmed it was fake. They then told me to email HR with my driver's license and social security number. I got all the info I needed, reported it to the FTC, and let the scammer know I had all the details to report them. I also mentioned freezing my bank account. They blocked me after that. I asked them, 'is it clear?' Guess they didn't want to continue. Stay safe and informed.

I got an email from HR to set up an interview with the hiring manager. After a 45 minute Zoom call, they told me they wanted me to move on to the next step. They said they would let HR know to set up a panel interview for me the following week. It's been three weeks now, and I've sent two follow-up emails to HR because I didn't have the hiring manager's email. HR hasn't told me the next steps in the hiring process, or even sent an update about the position or a rejection. The communication has been unprofessional and terrible.

I applied online and heard back a week later for a phone screen with HR. That went well, so I had an in-person interview with a team member. Then, I had a 3-hour interview at their office to discuss the role's expectations. I sent a thank you email afterward but got ghosted, with no decision notification.
