There were three or four interviews. The first interview was with a recruiter. The second/third was with the VP of Sales. The last was with the President. Overall a great interview process, they gave feedback early on and didn't leave you guessing.

I had a 1-hour technical discussion with the VP, team lead, and a recruiter from an outsourcing company. They started by introducing the company, its business, and giving details about the role. After that, we worked through a small system design problem. They also asked several Golang syntax questions. The interview concluded with a couple of coding/algorithm problems.

Several rounds of interviews happened. First, a recruiter call, then a chat with the VP. After that, there were three 30-minute meetings with team members. Finally, a meeting with the CEO was scheduled. I was told this was the whole process. After the team member interviews, I was informed I needed to do a presentation to show how comfortable I am with software. A few days later, the recruiter told me they were going with someone else, which surprised me since I thought I was moving forward. I reached out to be understanding and asked for feedback, but then got no response.

The interview process went pretty well. I had a good time chatting with the head of engineering and the team. They were quick to respond and kept things moving. We spent a good chunk of time discussing the industry and what my role would entail. The technical interview was fair.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Round 1 was about getting to know each other. They asked about the technologies I’m most comfortable with, and about a project I found challenging and grew from.
  • Round 2 was a pair programming coding exercise and a system design exercise.
