First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Relativity.
Billing Specialist
The interview process was very easy and well communicated. Karlynne was amazing, thorough communication, relatable personality and forward-thinking. The hiring manager was very personable and interview was more conversational. The others asked situational type questions and luckily I was able to answer those. I'm rating the interview as "Difficult" because unless you're skilled at generating responses on the spot, you will find the questions difficult to answer.
- Can you tell me about a time a customer issue went wrong and how you handled it to fix it?
Applications Specialist
This was for an application support specialist role in their London office. It started with a recruiter call. Then there were 2 interviewers on video chat. The final interview was a 3-hour video chat session which was actually 4 interviews: Core Values, Insight, Technical, and HR. I had a prep call before this. So, including everything, it was like 7 interviews. I took a day off for the last 3-hour session. I wondered why it was so long. I did a lot of homework on the company. The interviewers were more interested in my 'stories' than actual skills. Two interviewers seemed to think I'd get the job, and HR said they'd email soon. The next day, HR emailed asking if I was free for a follow-up. I asked her to call that day instead, which she did, telling me I didn't get the job. She said interviewers thought I was technical and good with customers, but my 'real life stories' weren't always fully related to the questions. So, I'm good technically and with customers, but not a good storyteller, apparently. They wanted stories for almost every question for 3 hours! kCura is big in Chicago but small in London, with only one support person and less than 10 total staff. If you want to get hired, polish your storytelling. The last interview breakdown: 1. Core Values: read their website values and prep a story for each. 2. Insight: CV work experience questions, scenario-based, needing stories. 3. Technical: Not really technical, more scenario-based questions for stories. Another lesson: don't apply if salary isn't listed. My expectation might have affected the decision; as a senior specialist with 6 years' experience, I can't ask for less than 50k, and I earn around 45k. I realized later it was a first-line support role, and they prefer hiring for that. Positives: They kept promises and communicated professionally. Good learning opportunities if hired.
- Can you share a story about a good quality you don't possess?
Specialist
The interview process was really thorough. It kicked off with a phone call from HR, then a chat with the hiring manager over the phone. After that, I had an in-person interview that lasted about half a day, and it wrapped up with a virtual meeting with a team member who couldn't make it in person. I was really impressed with how everything was handled. My recruiter was great at keeping me in the loop, always explaining what was next and answering my questions fast. The in-person part was long and detailed; you can tell they really care about finding people who fit and align with their core values.
- Can you share an instance where you received critical feedback?
