I applied for a Manager role at The Post Hotel Relais & Châteaux and was contacted for an interview within a week. The interview took place at the resort with two managers. It was a casual chat about my background and qualifications. They gave me a quick tour of the department and asked for references, which they contacted shortly after. Unfortunately, I didn't hear back about my application status after the interview. I followed up with an email but received no response. This lack of communication was surprising and unprofessional, especially since I have strong references, qualifications, and work experience. While I understand not being a fit is a possibility, not communicating it felt wrong. Given this experience, and the fact that there are other resorts nearby, I won't be pursuing future opportunities with this hotel.
