I had a good interview experience. They were upfront about what they were looking for. They asked a lot of questions to understand me better, what I wanted, and if I would be a good fit.

The first interview was a casual coffee meeting with the DSM at a food court. I mostly did the talking, with her occasionally asking for more details on my résumé. She described the job's expectations, dress code, work hours policy, benefits, and challenges. While the setting was informal, I maintained a professional demeanor. I was then given a mystery assessment to complete at one of their locations and bring to the second interview. In the second interview, I had to explain my observations from the assessment and answer official interview questions on a form, which included basic situational questions. Candidates need to demonstrate fashion sense, trend knowledge, a proactive attitude, and collaborative team-building skills.

Behavioral Case Presentation

I emailed my resume to the district manager. She replied quickly and set up an interview. I met her at one of the stores and she was really nice. The interview lasted over an hour and was full of behavioral and situational questions, which felt pretty common sense for retail. She asked what I wanted to be paid instead of telling me the salary range. She didn't ask about my past work or why I'd be good for the job, only about leadership and building a sales team. Then, she gave me a 'store assessment form' and told me to go evaluate staff, visuals, and merchandise at another location. I did that and met with her and the regional manager the next day to discuss my findings, offering both positive and negative points and solutions. They asked more situational and behavioral questions and introduced me to the store's manager. I got a call two days later with a job offer.
