First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Regional Economic Models.
Analyst
It was a two-part interview, pretty chill and not too hard. I was expecting it to be tougher, but it wasn't. They didn't ask any technical questions, mostly soft skills stuff. They did ask some unexpected questions though.
- Who was this year's Nobel prize winner in Economics?
Business Development Representative
It was a pretty fair process, starting with a screening phone call and then a quick chat with management. You should be able to explain what the company does simply and highlight your outreach skills. The interview wasn't super structured, so don't stress too much about prepping specific answers beforehand. There were a few behavioral questions, but honestly, it felt more like a conversation.
- Can you explain what this company does?
Marketing
Interviewed with the president. It was an okay conversation. He's a nice guy, but he struggles a bit with interpersonal skills. He asked very basic marketing questions. You could tell this organization is very sales-focused from the get-go. Their marketing program isn't very advanced and leans heavily on telemarketing, which I don't find very effective these days. However, it did work for filling up their events, so it was a good learning experience. I was hired very quickly.

Economic Associate
The hiring process was quick. First, there was a phone interview with senior management. Then, the following week, I had an in-person interview also with senior management. The interview included a presentation on an economic topic I chose. I got the job offer soon after the in-person meeting.
- Can you explain current events from an economic perspective?
