First, there was an assessment that was graded. After passing that, I moved on to the interview stage. The assessments were pretty easy. The interview had about 8 to 10 questions, and they all required me to use the STAR method. You really had to use the STAR method to answer the questions to get a good score.

First, there was a nursing quiz at the corporate office. If you passed that, then you had a regular interview at the facility. Most of the questions were based on scenarios and asked about your experience in certain situations, like dealing with conflict or a diabetic resident wanting a sugary snack.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • How would you handle a situation where a diabetic resident, who you know doesn't manage their sugar well, wants to eat a sugary dessert during the lunch meal?

The hiring process consisted of three main steps. First, they reviewed your resume and cover letter. Second, you had to provide an assessment and a detailed description of your past work experience. Finally, there was an interview that exclusively focused on Behavioral Event Interview (BEI) questions, as they already had a solid understanding of your experiences and skills from the first two stages. The interview involved three interviewers who each asked about 3-4 questions in turn. The interview was conducted virtually via MS Teams. It's important to prepare for BEI questions beforehand.

Confirmed questions2 questions
  • Can you describe a time you managed conflict within a team?
  • Tell me about a situation where you had a disagreement with your manager and how you handled it.

Behavioral Presentation

About 2 months after I applied, I got an invite to apply for the job. First, there was a written assignment about how my background matches the job. After that, I was asked to do an interview. A part of the interview was a presentation on a topic they gave me, and I had to present it to the panel before the interview. The interview itself took about 45 mins to 1 hour. They asked BEI questions like 'Tell me about a time when...'. I used STAR for my answers and the panel seemed to like it. The interviewers were nice, with one from HR and two from the department I applied for.

Confirmed questions1 question
  • Can you describe a situation where you had a disagreement with a policy or a colleague/supervisor, and how you handled it while ensuring excellent customer service?
