First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at REGENXBIO.
Engineer
It was a pretty drawn-out process. I had about two phone screenings first, and then I went in for the in-person interviews where I met with around 6 or 7 people. It was good though, got to meet a bunch of folks I'd be collaborating with.
- Tell me about your past experience with facility startups.
- How have you handled and overcome challenges in previous roles?
- What would you say are your greatest strengths?
Executive Assistant
I had a virtual interview with HR and followed up with them a week after the interview. I followed up again a couple days after and never heard from anyone. I only ended up hearing back from HR when I mentioned it's disrespectful to ignore interviewees after their interviews. HR responded saying 'I was so busy with interviews I couldn't possibly reply to your email and let you know that I WAS going to call you this week'. I told her that if you had responded to any email prior to my calling your behavior disrespectful then you'd have a leg to stand on. We're human beings, not just resumes.
- Can you walk me through your background?
Scientist
The interview process was entirely virtual. It began with a meeting with an HR representative in the morning, followed by five hours of virtual meetings in the afternoon without any breaks. All the interviewers were friendly, but the conversations and questions felt quite repetitive throughout the afternoon sessions.
- Can you share an instance where you experienced a conflict with a colleague and explain how you resolved it?
Senior Manager
It began with a phone screen with the VP in the same role. Then there were short interviews and lunch with people from 5+ functions on the same day. The hiring manager was pretty responsive.
- Can you give examples of past projects you've worked on?
- Can you tell me about your career history?
- What behavioral questions do you have for me?
