First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at ReGeneration Schools.
Administrative Assistant
Misleading. This school. Expects teachers to fill the role of three people. New teachers should be wary and not join as their first job. The salary maybe tempting the work load is enormous. Admin wants compliment people who will follow their script.
- Are you weak or desperate?
- Can the school tell if you are compliant?
- Will you give students a good and accurate education?
Teacher
The interview process wasn’t terrible, but some things were unprofessional. They changed the interview location last minute, which was inconvenient with a small child, but I still made it on time. I waited about 20 minutes before someone introduced themselves and explained the process. They had me observe classrooms and take notes, which I thought was a bit much. They also gave on-the-spot critiques, which I found off-putting and unprofessional, especially in front of students. The interview itself was standard, with some redundant questions and one interviewer seemed to be fishing for questions. I was told my mini-lesson went well and I followed feedback, but it felt like micromanagement.
- What motivates your desire to work in an urban school setting?
Middle School Math Teacher
The interview process was intriguing and unique. After I completed a phone interview, I came in for a working interview. As I am conducting my working interview, the interviewers critiqued me while I was working. This was so unique, because the standards that CICS Basil School held, they gave me a chance to obtain them right at the moment; gave me a chance to grow in the moment. Then, after the working interview, there was a consultation held where the interviewers gave me feedback, and complimented on how well I did in the interview. They told me right on spot that I got the job.
- What could I have done better during the interview?
Data Associate
It started with a school tour where I got to interact with kids and teachers. Then there was a roleplay based on a scenario about problems that can occur during test periods, where they wanted to see how I handle difficult situations. After that, there was a performance test about system issues, asking how I would provide a solution. Lastly, a project management scenario was given to measure my organizational and planning skills to cover all possible problems.
- Can you describe how you handle interactions with difficult individuals?
