First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Refugee Services of Texas.
Area Director
I went through 2 rounds, each with a different interviewer. The conversations were thorough, with lots of behavioral questions. I felt like I developed a good rapport with the hiring managers and would like to continue connecting with them. RST is a great organization.
- Can you start by telling me about yourself?
- What makes you interested in this particular role?
- What's your reasoning for why we should hire you?
Support Specialist
So, the process was a bit different. No initial phone call. I first interviewed with the Area Director. Right after that, I met with another person to check my second language skills. Since it's an entry-level job, the questions were pretty basic. They wanted to see if I could manage conflict, if I'd do well in a fast work environment, and to get a sense of my real interest in the company.
- In five years, where do you envision yourself?
Intern
Started with CV screening, then a phone call screening. After that, there was a test screening, followed by a first interview and then a second interview. They extended an offer and invited me to visit the office. Then I started with a 2-day orientation program, and then it was my first day in the office.
- Why are you interested in this internship?
- For how long will you be available for this internship?
- Would you be interested in staying with us longer?
Chief Financial Officer
It was a really nice process, all done virtually because of Covid. The first round involved meeting with the CEO, HR, and the current finance director. The second round was with the CEO and a board member from the finance committee.
- Can you describe your experience and familiarity with nonprofit accounting?
