It was a terrible experience. I had three onsite interviews. The first two seemed okay, and I met some nice people, but there were warning signs about the CFO. My third and last interview was supposed to be a 15-minute chat with the CFO. I had taken a few months off for family stuff, and when he asked about it, he said, 'you know that’s weird right?'. When I mentioned reporting to someone I met, he laughed and said, 'Um no you wouldn’t... you would be the controller’s right hand person..... you would not be reporting to this person at all.' He acted like I didn't know anything, even though I was told directly by that person and the controller that I would report to them. He was incredibly demeaning and spent over 40 minutes just trying to make me uncomfortable, calling it 'tips for the future.' He clearly enjoyed seeing me squirm. I should have left, knowing I couldn't work for him. The recruiter said everyone else wanted to hire me, but the CFO made the time off a dealbreaker. It's obvious from my resume that I had a gap, just a few months, so why interview me three times if that was an issue? I'm so glad I didn't get an offer. A quick Google search shows many negative reviews of him from his previous job.

I applied through an institute where I did a Software Testing Course. The first round was a written exam with 6 sections: 1) Quantative Aptitude (5 MCQs), 2) JAVA (5 MCQs), 3) HTML/CSS/JavaScript (5 MCQs), 4) 5 SQL Queries based on a given scenario, 5) Testing (analyzing a screenshot of an app page and answering 2 questions about test scenarios under specific testing types, plus writing about the severity and priority of some bugs), and 6) Pseudo codes (5 questions to assess logical thinking). After this, they mentioned results would be emailed to selected candidates. (Results are still awaited - I suspect they have high expectations for freshers for this role, aiming for exceptionally strong candidates since experienced professionals are also being considered.)

It was a 2 round process. The first round was a 1 hour phone interview where they asked about my work experience and what field I'm interested in. Then they asked 3 questions - 2 puzzles and 1 coding question. The coding question was easy. If you're good with puzzles, the puzzles were also easy. I didn't get selected for the second round.

I first talked to the dev manager over the phone, it was a totally technical interview focused on JAVA/J2EE. Later that day, the recruiter called to let me know about another interview with the VP. The next morning, I had that interview with the VP, which covered technical stuff, personality, and general IT concepts. The same day, the recruiter called to say they're interested in hiring me.
