Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Redfin.
Product Manager
The interview process included a phone screen and an in-person interview. Overall, it was fine, but ultimately there wasn't a fit for the role and no offer was extended. That's not a problem in itself. The main issue was the lack of post-interview communication from the company beyond generic emails, even though I had asked specific questions that should have prompted a more personal response. Candidates who invest time in interviewing deserve better follow-up. Who knows, they might be a great fit for another position or could connect the company with other suitable candidates in the future. As it stands, I wouldn't be eager to reapply or recommend this company to others.
- Can you tell me about a project you managed that was particularly successful?
Product Manager
After a resume screening, I was given a take-home assignment that took about 5 days to complete. It was a standard 3-5 page PRD practice, where I had to improve Amazon's list feature. A week after I submitted it, I had my first interview with a director of product. The questions were mainly about my resume and previous work, plus typical PM questions like why Redfin and why I wanted to be a PM. I also had to present my take-home assignment. I didn't get past this round.

Product Manager
The interview process was awesome! The recruiter gave a clear overview of stage 1 and stage 2. All the interviewers were solid in their business functions. I also got detailed feedback at the end.
