So, first there was a recruiter call, then I spoke with the hiring manager. After that, there was a technical round where they asked me SQL and some basic Python questions. Finally, I had an onsite interview with 4 rounds: one technical, one behavioral, a case study, and a meeting with the hiring manager and a product partner.

I applied online and then a recruiter reached out about scheduling a hiring manager interview. The hiring manager interview was pretty standard, covering my current work experience, a technical project I had worked on, and specifically asking about causal inference. I heard back the next day with a rejection, mainly because I lacked direct experience in causal inference.

The process started with submitting a form to express my interest in reddit. This was followed by a technical interview that focused on SQL and Python. The SQL portion involved three questions. The interviewer struggled to explain the questions and my follow-up questions, and I was given only 20 minutes to complete all three. Next, we moved to Python, which included one easy LeetCode question: finding the median of an array. I solved this in about 2 minutes. Throughout the interview, the interviewer was often muted, possibly distracted, as responses to my questions were consistently delayed. With 15 minutes remaining, I suggested revisiting the last SQL question I hadn't finished, but the interviewer dismissed it as unnecessary and proceeded to ask questions. A week later, I received a rejection without any feedback on my performance. It seemed the interviewer lacked a solid understanding of basic data science or coding principles.
