My interview journey started with a recruiter call that felt really good, professional, and friendly. Then I had a technical interview that included a presentation, which was a cool way to test skills. But the last interview, a behavioral one with two managers, was a bummer. It went way over time, like 45 minutes too long, and they seemed checked out and rude the whole time. I was told I'd hear back in two weeks, but I didn't. I nudged them a month later and just got an automated rejection email. I put in over five hours preparing and interviewing, and a quick update or a short feedback call would've been basic respect. It's important to treat applicants like people, not just data. This poor communication and lack of empathy really left a bad taste. Because of this, I'd never apply to Red Hat again and wouldn't suggest it to friends.

I first got in touch through some old colleagues. After that, I had three phone chats with the hiring manager, someone else in a different location, and an HR person. Then, I had two one-on-one meetings with the hiring manager and a sales manager I'd be working with. The hiring manager also had me do an online technical pre-training assessment and pointed me to some books to get up to speed on the role and business side of things (I read one and felt I knew enough from the other). After that, there was an hour-long panel interview with the hiring manager, the sales manager, and two account managers who worked for him (one of them was the former colleague who connected me). Finally, I met with two more account managers I would be supporting, mainly just to introduce ourselves informally.
