It was a 7 round interview process. Round 1 was an introduction and orientation, checking basic technical and communication skills. Round 2 was about the role and why I'm interested, and my reason for leaving. Round 3 was a deep dive into technical topics like K8s and Security. Round 4 involved case studies and handling situations. Round 5 was an evaluation of my answers from previous rounds, my basic philosophy and psychology. Round 6 was about how I'd work with other departments, including assisting and seeking help. Round 7 was about my intention and seriousness for the role.

Behavioral Technical Presentation Case

There were 3 rounds in total. The first round was with the hiring manager, followed by a technical expert in the second round. The third round was a panel interview with 3 people, which involved a role-play Q&A where the task was to sell based on identified pain points. The feedback received was that I provided too much detail and didn't effectively sell the company culture. However, the brief given didn't really align with this feedback. I was asked to be creative, but it seemed they were more interested in selling their company culture, which is quite difficult to do when you haven't worked there. It feels like the role was already decided before the interviews began, which was a disappointing waste of my time.

Behavioral Technical Coding

Started with a recruiter call to go over my resume. Then had a call with the hiring manager about the job and my experience. After that, I went to Raleigh for an in-person interview with some of his colleagues and the Director. This was about a 4-hour session where I learned more about the role and asked them questions. There was also a technical phone interview where I got asked some standard UNIX questions by a TAM. Finally, I had a lunch interview and then an office interview with the Director.
