Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Red Clay Consulting.
Senior Consultant
We talked about technical and functional OCM stuff. Also, some behavioral questions about my past utilities project experiences. They asked about client engagement and the technical parts of the job, and understanding the Meter to Cash process.
- Could you share some of your past implementation experiences?
Technical Consultant
I applied online and the recruiter called me in a few days to tell me about Red Clay, the job, and what they expected. The next week, I had a technical interview with a senior consultant. I also had to do an online aptitude test. Then, I went to the Red Clay office for an onsite interview with 4 rounds: a technical one, a case study, an interview with the MD, and a behavioral interview. Each of these interviews was about an hour long. After that, there was a final online programming test. They told me the final decision within 3 days of my onsite. The whole thing took a little over a month. They were very thorough and detailed. Everyone was really nice and made me feel comfortable. They even paid for my flights and hotel for the onsite interview. It was a good experience talking to everyone.
- Can you elaborate on your previous project experiences?
- Tell me about your technical knowledge related to [specific technologies].
- Can you walk me through the SDLC process?
Consultant
I got to the final round interview at Red Clay in Atlanta and felt welcomed. The interview had a case interview, a personality assessment, and another interview. The first and last parts were fine, but the middle part was not. They analyzed a psychological questionnaire I'd taken beforehand and asked questions based on it. One question was about my decision-making behavior, and I explained how past experiences made me more methodical. The interviewer also said I don't show emotions that match my motivations, which they said was based on the questionnaire. Then, the interviewer asked some uncomfortable personal questions like 'What's your relationship with your sister?' and 'Did you have a hard time making friends at [university]?'. These felt disrespectful and intrusive, like they were trying to find some insecurity. While employers can look into things, the way they did it was rude. I explained what I learned from my personal story, but I didn't expect unrelated personal questions. It was presumptive and rude. This part of the interview felt really disrespectful, and I've never had that happen before. Even though I didn't get an offer, I knew I didn't want to work there after that interview part.
- Did you struggle to make friends at [university]?
