First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Recurrent Energy.
Software Developer
The interviewer was really nice, and the whole vibe was pretty relaxed. We talked about my skills, my background, and I gave some examples of problems I'd tackled or solutions I'd come up with in previous roles. There weren't any technical challenges to solve; it was all about discussing my qualifications and how they align with the company's objectives.

HR Specialist
So I had a phone interview with someone from the department first. Then there was this 4-hour marathon where I talked to different people from various departments one-on-one. It was pretty chill, but honestly, I felt like they could've made it more efficient by having everyone meet me at once. The whole vibe soured though because after the interview, I mentioned I had another offer. They said they were still keen, and I'd hear back by Monday. Monday rolled around, and crickets. I followed up again, still nothing. Eventually, I got a generic 'unfortunately we can't hire you' message. Talk about ironic, me interviewing for HR and them being so unprofessional! It was a pain because I'd turned down other opportunities to wait for them, and they ghosted me in the end.

Origination Associate
I went through 4 steps with Recurrent for this job. The team I'd work with was nice, but the overall process lacked professionalism and good communication. It started with an informational interview, but the person cancelled 3 minutes before the meeting for a minor personal reason. We rescheduled and had a good chat, and they referred me. Then I had a quick 12-minute phone screening with the recruiter, who also rescheduled 15 minutes before our original time via email. The next day, I got invited for an in-person interview with the actual team. The recruiter said there would be 2 interviewers, but there were 3, and they seemed to be seeing my resume for the first time. I really liked the team and the role, thought I did well, and was confident about moving forward. It took me over a week and a follow-up email to hear back from the recruiter. She said the team liked me and we discussed salary. My last interview was a Teams call, which went well and felt straightforward. Even though I felt good after the first interview, it took over a week and another follow-up email to find out I was rejected. When I asked the recruiter for feedback, she never replied. The whole process had issues like two last-minute reschedules, incorrect info about interviewers, interviewers not being prepared, and poor communication from the recruiter about next steps and the final outcome.

Finance
The recruiter called to set up an interview and rushed me to schedule it. I interviewed four times with this company and they never replied back with a response. I emailed the recruiter letting her know that I received an offer from another company and needed a response. She never replied back and ghosted me. This was disrespectful. I dedicated an enormous amount of time to all interviews; including a written assessment they asked me to do after my first interview. have it done within two days otherwise she said I would be late in the process. After the initial screen, I had the interview with a team member and the hiring manager. They were pretty nice and actually made me want to intern at this company. They then told me that the recruiter was going to reach out to me, but it never happened. In other words, I was ghosted. I tried reaching out twice to the recruiter but she never responded. Honestly, if you rushed someone to set up an interview at least reach out to them regardless of the outcome and show some basic respect.
- A written finance assessment evaluating a solar plant was requested after the initial recruiter interview, with a two-day deadline to avoid falling behind in the process.
