After submitting my resume via employee referral, I was quickly contacted by Recommind HR for an initial phone screen asking basic work experience questions. Then, a manager conducted a second, hour-long phone screen focusing on my experience and personality. A third phone screen followed, where I received more information about the role. Subsequently, HR scheduled me for an onsite interview round, which involved four managers and lasted four hours. The interviews primarily covered my experience and included some soft hypos. Two managers asked the classic strengths and weaknesses question. Following this, HR requested a writing sample based on a provided hypothetical, and references were checked. Despite initial positive feedback and promises of hearing back the following week, I experienced significant delays and lack of communication, with HR citing decision-makers being out of town and later, company restructuring, but ultimately received no definitive update.

Got a call super fast for what I thought was just a quick chat, but it turned into a 30-minute HR call. They asked normal stuff like 'tell me about yourself' plus some questions that showed they knew their tech. They said my resume was going to the hiring manager, but a week later, after I followed up, I just got a rejection.

The interview process was straightforward with pleasant people. If you have experience with major search products, good coding skills, and communicate well, you should do fine. I spoke with several consultants who were nice, though some seemed less experienced. The company doesn't have huge financial resources, so don't expect a top-tier offer unless you're a true expert in search and classification. It seems like a good place for recent graduates to learn if they're willing to work hard.

The recruiter was professional and got back to me quickly. Even though I needed to telecommute and this job didn't offer that, they talked about possible accommodations, which is really great for this early stage. I think the company is managed well and it would have been a good opportunity for me.
