First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Recipe Unlimited Corporation.
Network Systems Administrator
Got a call from HR first, then had 2 technical rounds. The people were great and the conversations were good, it was a fairly easy interview. I forgot some basics though and didn't get a call back, but luckily I got another offer the same week. It would have been nice to get a rejection email.
- Can you explain the basics of DNS?
- What are the basics of IPv4 and IPv6?
- Can you explain the basics of cloud computing?
Account Manager
Applied online, then had a phone interview with a recruiter. After that, I had an in-person interview with both the recruiter and the director of sales. Then, a second in-person interview with two potential teammates who were also account managers. Unfortunately, I never heard back from anyone after that last interview. It's really unprofessional how companies expect candidates to show up and be available when they request, but then they don't even train their recruiters to give a simple yes or no response. It seems like they're either overworked or just don't care about basic manners like getting back to candidates they've met multiple times. It's disappointing, not because I didn't get the job, but because the candidate experience for a company like this isn't great.
- Did you have questions about sales orientation?
- Were there customer service related questions?
- Were there questions about analytics?
Accounts Receivable Specialist
I interviewed here virtually. It was a black woman screening for a white woman hiring manager. They were polite enough to tell me I didn't get the job, but I feel systemically discriminated against. On every email this is their diversity statement: We respectfully acknowledge that the City of Vaughan is situated in the Territory and Treaty 13 lands of the Mississauga's of the Credit First Nation. We also recognize the traditional territory of the Huron-Wendat and the Haudenosaunee. The City of Vaughan is currently home to many First Nations, Métis and Inuit people today. As representatives of the people of the City of Vaughan, we are grateful to have the opportunity to work and live in this territory.
- Could you communicate what your needs were?
- Could you communicate what your needs were based on HR script?
Garnisher
I applied online and immediately got a call. Then I had a phone interview where they asked basic questions like why I want to work there, how I'd make it fun, why it's a good place, and what I do in my free time. A week or so later, they called me back for an in-person interview and asked me to bring extra copies of my resume and references. The manager read questions from a paper, which was a bit strange because I mostly looked at the top of their head.
- Can you tell me about your community hours?
- Tell me about a time you felt proud of something you did.
- Share an experience where you dealt with a challenging customer or friend.
