The Recaro interview process usually starts with an HR screening, followed by a technical interview with engineers. Then there's a final panel interview. They really look at your technical skills, how you solve problems, and if you're a good cultural fit. Sometimes they finish with a site tour.

HR contacted me and set up an in-person interview for a couple of weeks out, but they scheduled it for 11:30 PM and didn't confirm a specific day and time until two days before. The interview itself went well overall. One of the three interviewers was a bit rude when discussing my resume, noting I only had one previous employer (I've been there for seven years since graduating college). I was told multiple times that I'd get a response either way. Two weeks passed, so I emailed HR to check in, but received no reply. Five weeks after the in-person interview, I called HR and finally got a callback. HR explained that the decision was essentially a coin toss and there were no hard feelings. Honestly, I went into this wanting them to convince me about working for a small company with limited growth potential, but the unprofessionalism left a bad impression.

The interview process was alright. HR had trouble accessing the online application, so I had to redo it. The questions from the Production team were good and they knew what they were looking for. It was better than talking to the hiring rep who didn't really know the job. They didn't reject me for being overqualified because they understood that it doesn't affect work ethic or dependability. There's no background check, and only a few people had drug tests. Security isn't highly valued, just lightly acknowledged at the RAU site.

The interview process included a panel interview with the Manager of Program Management, another Program Manager, and the Executive Vice President. This was followed by a one-on-one interview with a direct report. The panel interview covered technical knowledge, personal traits, and job-specific knowledge, with each interviewer having a distinct approach. The overall interview was a mix of technical and personal assessments.
